Meet Tim Kelly

Music seemed to be in my soul from the very start, so starting piano lessons at seven years old seemed liked a natural thing to do. I loved it-I couldn't get enough of the sounds that came off the strings. After five years of practice and lessons, and 30 recitals later, I joined a local youth symphony as the youngest pianist in their 15-year history.

Although I never thought that I would make a career playing the piano, an interesting thing evolved: I began to express my feelings by writing songs. And then all hell broke out. The Beatles hit in 1964, the clouds parted and I saw the light. Everything became clear. I was supposed to buy a guitar, form a band and take the show on the road. So the journey began, and I did end up making music my love and my career. I formed all sorts of bands along the way, snagged a record deal at 25, and toured the country making a living doing what I had always known was my calling.

As the years passed, I wanted to expand my musical experience and find other outlets for my passion. Along came video, a perfect match of visual and audio entertainment. With a strong will to learn, I spent the next 10 years producing films and video and working with scoring and sound design, all the while expanding my love for this marriage of music and picture. Along the way, I had the opportunity to work with greats such as Peter Frampton, John Oates, David Sanborn and others. Creating tour sponsorship videos for Paul McCartney, Hall & Oates, Rod Stewart, and The Rolling Stones also highlighted my activities.

And here we are today: my album, Meet Tim Kelly, is the result of my feelings and thoughts over the last few years. It was a pleasure working with the great musicians, writers, engineers and vocalists that contributed to this work. I sincerely hope that in these songs, you will find something that takes you to a place that only music can create. When that happens, we are on this journey together.
